We showed up at Death Guild at 8:30 expecting any pre-door crowds to be dissipated and a breeze through the door… WRONG… The line travelled all the way around the corner and then some! and It didn’t even start moving for an hour and a half! PLUS, the wind was freezing, and I didn’t bother to bring anything warm… sadly, wind cuts right through fishnet :-/. Needless to say, we were very glad to be inside.
I am so surprised that all those people could fit. There were more goths at the show than I have ever seen in one place, especially on a monday night! It was crammed! Luckily Izzy, Anjie, and I staked out the front right away, and held our ground all night long.
Ayria, the opening band was decent. They did well enough to pass the time.
But Wolfsheim…wow… I’d been warned by a few swedish fellows that their live show was horrible, but Wolfsheim nailed this one hardcore style. The first two songs were decent. The singer is really static on stage, so I began to think it wasn’t going to be a very memorable show. I was proved wrong! During ‘I Won’t Believe,’ their third song of the night, about 2 minutes in, when the song does that switch to guitar on the album, they brought out a drummer and a guitarist. After that, the show was like a roller coaster ride! Every song sounded amazing, many of them much different than their album versions, but the singers voice was flawless the whole night. His singing is captivating, and perfect. I was really dumbstruck by it. He was kind of silly looking with his lyric book on the podium, but hey, for a flawless performance like that, he can do whatever he needs. Once the momentum of the show got going, it felt like all of Death Guild got swept away by them, the applause was really intense. After 3 encores, the crowd was still screaming too. Damn. I really liked their live renditions of ‘The Sparrows and the Nightingales’ , and ‘Heroin She Said.’ We even got to sing along to ‘Once in a Lifetime,’ the final song they played, which I felt was really really well place… It was such a good show. I overheard some nay-sayers during an encore break saying they didn’t move enough, but I think, had the singer been dancing, it might have ruined the effect it had. And, interestingly enough Wolfsheim seemed really surprised at the crowd response. Their thank you for the wonderful evening at the end of the show sounded extremely sincere. They didn’t stop playing till 1:20am. Even Izzy and Anjie walked away stunned, and they haven’t been listening to Wolfsheim for very long. It was sooo much fun. Go Wolfsheim!
The drive home sucked… I didn’t get to bed until 3:30… now im back to the reality of studying… :-/

I haven’t been to Death Guild in ages due to early tuesday Calculus class, but next week is spring break, and I think I might venture out again. I miss the dancing!
Ayria was fun, the singer got really into it and seemed to be having a good time. I liked how she added these sexy little growl things to words that ended in ‘R’ noises (like “Moreeerrroooowwwrrwrrwrrrrr”). It was very sexy.
Nonoooono you see you introduced yourself on my journal long before you added me, which I view as very polite, and usually if I post back in yours it kinda shows that I dont mind you adding me. The post I wrote is projected out to some guy I dont even know, or where he could have found me, just added me out of the blue. So stop with your rudeness bs, heheheh, you were very polite:-) sweet I might actually be there next week!!! hope to see ya there.

Re: kid
super, expect it sometime in may.
despite the hour and a half spent in the icy wind, the night was wonderful!!! ayria’s energy totally pumped me up. i would have to say that the “drummer” was probably my favorite hehe. wolfsheim was great for keeping me entertained and mellowing out my energy level at the same time. i love his voice. the book of his own lyrics as classic. all in all i’d say it was a spectacular show indeed! though next time you venture out to the guild of death, i suggest you do so when there isn’t a biology test to be taken the next day.
