I spent the last 3 days off the internet, it felt good.
Summer is officially here, which means I have intensified my reading program. The next 2 weeks have been set aside for reading Lord Byron’s Don Juan outloud (speaking the prose is easier than just reading), and after that comes Virgil’s Aenid + other poems, 3 Volumes of Goethe, Beowulf…. and sheesh, there is so much I want to read, and only 3 months to do it in.
I scared this waiter in Carrows on Sunday, I said “Yeah… hm, I just want some eggies, and maybe some nice toast with potatoes, but nothing big” He looked at me really funny and giggled. The problem is normally I get steak and eggs when I eat, but Carrows meat tastes like paper, and so all i wanted was the eggs hashbrowns and toast, but the menu didnt have that, everything had something big like steak, bacon, a sandwhich or so on… it was cool.
Yep. Hmm, that will be all for now.

was wondering if you fell of the face of the earth.
i spent the weekend offline..mostly anyway…until i ordered my computer sunday night.
i have so much to read too….and limited time. only < 2 months of summer left. (yay!)
Cool!
I had a similar idea last winter — a reading group. During the dark winter months, a small group of us would get together around a nice fireplace and read aloud things like Beowulf, or Greek plays, maybe some Shakespeare, Illiad, etc… we could take turns and drink tea and stuff.
The idea never came to fruition, though.
Re: Cool!
I like reading outloud, it helps me grab more of the content when it’s in a confusing prose form.
they put bacon in everything. Beware the chicken fried steak, as the “country gravy” even has bacon bits, which I think is disgusting as then the bacon flavor saturates everything and then you can’t taste the chicken fried steak (which coincidentally, does not taste like chicken)
But bacon tastes goooood. Pork chops taste goooood.
All carrows meat = paper, except some of the hamburgers, which aren’t bad. Denny’s to. Adels has decent meat though.
I’m boycotting Adels until they bring back the pink sugar!
Haha!!! Adel’s in Healdsburg has pink sugar, but I still think it’s nasty!
But.. but… but… It’s so … pink!
What is an Adel’s? Pink sugar…. sounds vile. All that cancerous red dye. That’s just one level down from radion infused glow-in-the-dark ceral prizes.
Kyle all meat at Carrows does not taste like paper, stop being dramatic. Try the stew, you’ll see. It even has floating bits of other things. They are colorful. I have no idea what they are, but they don’t taste like bacon so it must be okay.
well maybe not paper, but the steaks are pretty close.
hey dude
i dont know you but your on jenni’s list and its funny cuz jenni and i (and a ton of other people) were at carrows sunday nite too. 12:00 a.m. maybe you saw us. we were the group of obnoxiously loud laughingpeople.
We were sitting at the table in the corner, in the row that goes straight to the door. Bout 5 guys. We might have seen you.
