Ok, here I go posting again because I’m bored and I just realized I missed Star Trek, and I had an interesting thought.
The thought is this: I know that I, and other people, belive in the concept of fate, and things coming to you, and all you need to do is act on them. Simple so far. But, what if I spend all my time looking for something great to come along for me to act on, that I’m really missing all kinds of great things right below my nose. Something nice comes along, slaps me in the face, and I miss it because I was looking for something nice. I think I read this in a book actually… the more I think about it, the more familiar it sounds….. Hold on a sec *Starts rummaging through school binder*…….. ok, well hmm… I guess I didn’t originally have the thought, I read it from “Zen and the Art of Motorcycle Maintenance” by Robert Pirsig. Blah, well it still applies to what I’m thinking. The way he said it was that “the truth knocks on the door and you say ‘go away, I’m looking for the truth,’ so then it goes away.” Different context, same idea though. What if I have accidentally brushed people off/away from me, because the whole time I was waiting for some other kind of occurence that would never come. Maybe the trick is to stop waiting for something, and just live normally, and then everything will come as it is, but you will be able to recognize it rather than ignore it. That might be one of my faults, I’m looking for something and all the while ignoring it. hmmpph. This perplexes me to know end.

Wow, you should see the movie Serendipity with John Cusak. Its all about fate and stuff like that. You know, you really make a lot of sense, about fate and all, that’s how me and my best friend think, exactly. Like, if it’s meant to be, it will eventually happen, or work out. Thats what I say to myself everytime a guy breaks my heart. But you know, its hard to always trust in that saying, but there is another quote that I kind of live by. It is from my favorite book, Memoirs of a Geisha- here goes: “From this experience, I understood the danger of focusing only on what isn’t there. What if I came to the end of my life and realized that I’d spent everyday watching for a man who would never come to me? And if I drew my thoughts back from him, what life would I have? I would be like a dancer that had practiced since childhood, for a performance she would never give.” That was kind of long, but it is similar to the whole fate theory. I dont know, its weird how books can help you through stuff, and even weirder how much you can apply them to your life, and so thats why I love that book, and it sort of found me. I guess you could call it fate.

Loved Serendippity, Cusack is amazing
Never read Memoirs of a Geisha, but I think I’ve heard of it from a friend who is always telling me to read all these different books. It is amazing how books can bring to light certain emotions in one’s self. What’s even more amazing is when you read a book twice in two different times of your life, and the second time you relate differently than the first. Its like you’ve read a completely different book. So great!
weird

OOH! I was reading some entry in your memory folder and I was reading about your fave actors and movies and what not. I LOVE John Cusack, if he wasn’tso old and probably married already, I would marry him. I Hope you have seen Better Off Dead, cause if you haven’t, even though I don’t really know you I’m going to make you watch it. OOH! Christian Slater, I loved him in Heathers and Reality Bites, I own those cause I’m a little movie fiend. OMG! Oneofmy fave movies of all time is Can’t Hardly Wait. I have seen it god only knows how many times. I quoteit constantly. I like live my life by the qupte that Jena Elfman said when she was talking to Ethan (yes I know I use his first name only as if I know him) outside the telephone booth as she says something to the degree of “Fate only takes you so far, its up to you to do the rest” I am a strong believer in fate, but it can’t do everything for you, it takes you to the point where you are ready to take over and make the rest happen for you

That was one of the reasons I loved the movie, the whole fate concept. And it depicted geeks and dorks so well, I just loved it!
Just watched better of dead a few days ago for the 2nd time, it was disturbing and cute. John Cusack is definitely my favorite actor
