Welp, its finally time to start my friday! First off, I’m going to go to longs and talk to Matt about Spiderman tonight, then, EWARRIOR! woo! I haven’t been in a while so I think I’ll hang there for a bit. Post E-warrior, maybe I’ll randomize in the mall and get a burger at ‘juicy burger’ , which is a very fine establishment. Hope everyone else has an enjoyable day and evening, later!

I just …..

I just watched an episode of Star Trek: Deep Space Nine, that made me want to cry. Sometimes I’m just to emotional about things, but I won’t get into it. The episode was a commentary on obedience and loyalty in soldiers to a commander. First, 2 ships fight a battle, 1 ship is sent on a suicide mission by the foolish commander, the other is the federation ship. They both end up crashing on a planet, and the episode begins. The Jem’hadar ship Has 10 Jem’Hadad soldiers on board, all completely loyal to a treacherous commander. The part that made me so sad was this: The commander sends the Jem’Hadar off to attack the federation, but before hand gives the federation the attack plan. He hopes his troops will all die so he may surrender and live on. Benjamin Sisko (Federation commander) talks to the Jem’hadar soldier who leads beforehand, and their conversation was sickening. Ben proposes surrender, Ramata’klan (the Jem’Hadar), declines, saying he was ordered to attack. Ben says his commander is betraying him, Ramata’klan tells Ben he knows, but there is nothing he can do. He only obeys. Ben says it is foolish to throw his life away. Ramata’klan says it is not his life to throw away, but his commanders. Then the Jem’Hadar kamikaze the federation, all of them dieing in the process. Such a senseless waste of lives, and yet how often has this occured? All the armed forces in the world teach loyalty and discipline. Give your life for your country and commander, never question orders. Look what it results in. It was so sad. I’m sure none of this makes sense to anyone, and now I’m just rambling, but If you could watch the episode through my eyes you might understand. Star Trek teaches lessons as well as tells stories. They make disguised political commentaries on every episode. Many people don’t understand this and think of Star Trek as a stupid sci-fi show. If only they understood. Well….

It’s friday, that’s why I’m hopeful. I’m going to see spiderman with a few people, hopefully that will be fun. Saturday I want to go pre-birthday iceskating, that should be really great. Sunday, I might goto dinner, might not, very dependent…… :) …… hmm, yes, I think I’ll do a bit of journal reading then make my way to Santa Rosa for a bit possibly…. or find out what Derek is up to … yes.

Ok, In the past 2 days I’ve watched several good movies. Here are 3:

True Romance (mentioned this before) – This movie has an all star lineup from when everyone in it was a movie n00bie. Christian Slater, Patricia Arquette, Brad Pitt, Christopher Walken, Samuel L. Jackson, and more you’ll recognize. A veryvery awesome movie written by Quentin Tarentino. Favorite line : “Oh” said by Brad Pitt as he is completely stoned and a bunch of mobsters are in his house asking for directions. The funniest thing I’ve heard all week. It was all in the way he said it.

Better of dead – John Cusack movie, very twisted and yet very cute. He loses his girlfriend, wants to die, finds a better one and kicks bullie’s ass! Favorite line: “2 dollars!” said by horribly scary paper boy.

Phantoms – Ben Affleck, Rose McGowan. Jay said it best, Affleck was “the bomb in phantoms yo” I rented this movie all because of that line In Jay and Silent Bob Strike Back. Totally scary movie, but then again I don’t do well with movies that try and make you jump. Favorite line: “I fall…. to pieces!” Sung by I don’t know who. This had me all weirded out. Fun movie.

My mother brought me a croissant. I will eat it now, thank you mom!
